Dashboard Fall Cleaning

It’s the time of year where leaves are changing, holiday decorations are going up, and last minute Halloween costumes are being put together. With all of this change happening, we figured it was time for ReadMe to get some fall updates as well.

We’ve improved the navigation, added more information to the Project Dashboard, and made sure setting up a new project is a breeze!

New Project Dashboard

New Project Dashboard with Metrics

One of the first things you will notice when viewing the newly designed Project Dashboard is a list of ways to learn more about ReadMe and the work we are doing. This list will update over time with information about all the new features we release, including useful tips and tricks to get the most out of the product, and higher level blog posts that give a deeper insight into how we think about documentation and developer experiences.

We’ve also added a way to get a glance of how your project is performing with a snippet of the metrics that matter most. See how many page views your documentation is getting and see how much traffic is going to your API (once you’ve set up our Developer Metrics integration).

Improved Navigation

New and Improved Sidebar

We have redesigned our navigation to do a better job of surfacing the sections that are the most important. You'll spend less time wondering which section a particular setting or feature was nested under!

Also, if you are ever lost in the dashboard you can press ⌘/Ctrl + K (or click the magnifying glass at the bottom of the sidebar) to open a search bar you can use to navigate anywhere within ReadMe! Learn more about the Quick Switcher here.

New Customer Setup

If you haven’t signed up for ReadMe yet, there is no time like the present! We’ve redesigned the customer onboarding flow to make it easy to get up and running. New users are presented with a series of steps to complete to make sure they're getting the most value out of the product as fast as possible. If you complete all onboarding steps, your docs will be well on their way to amazing!

For more in-depth information about this release (and on all new features), you can read more in our changelog!
